Astrid: They make it to Astrid's home; a small one story house with a big oak tree in the front yard. She opens her door and turns on the oil lamps to illuminate her living room. It smelled of vanilla and spices in her home.

"Welcome to my abode!" she says happily. "It's small ... but it serves its purpose. Follow me, I'll show you the kitchen." she said as she hung up her coat and made her way to a dark part of her house.

Drazen: Drazen stepped in carefully, this time getting a basket before they left the orchard. The place was cosy, just the way he liked living. "You have a really nice home!" he commented, eyeing every little detail of Astrid's abode.

He followed her, still talking. "It smells so good too, I wish our's smelled like this, it's so comfy being here!"

Astrid: Astrid found her way through the darkness and lit another oil lamp in her kitchen.
"Ahh, thank you! It's just me living here, so it is small, but very cozy for just me."

She laid out the apples on her counter top. And reached into her cupboards and pulled out several baking utensils, measuring cups and spoons, a big and small mixing bowl and a whisk.

"Set your apples here and I'll try to find a recipe book around here."

Drazen: "Oooh! Oooh! Let me get my other ingredients, my house isn't far from here!" he told her, dropping the apple basket and leaving his top hat and goggles on the counter and exiting for a few moments. It's rare he actually remembers the path to where he lives.

A few moments later, the Blaziken returns with an arm load of spices and ingredients. "I found aaaallll these in our pantry!"

Astrid: While Astrid was waiting for his return, she found a desert recipe book her mother had given her for Christmas last year.

"Welcome back~" she said cheerfully. "This is going to be so fun!"

She put her pointer finger on the words and followed along to find a recipe they could do.

"Do you wanna start out with a classic apple pie?"

Drazen: "I like classic pie..." he said with a mellow tone, indicating a sold yes. "What do we need for that? Do we have it?" He checked everything on the counter and spread them out to make it easier to locate out of all the ingredients they've brought.

Astrid: Astrid glanced at her cookbook and placed her thumb on her chin, observing the words she read.

"Two cups of flower ... one teaspoon of salt ... a teaspoon of sugar ... and four tablespoons of cold water ..." she set the book down and examined their supplies. "

Drazen: Drazen picked out those things carefully from the take, setting the unneeded aside for later. He brought a few utensils with him to help carry all the ingredients to the house. He picked up a bowl. "Is this big enough?" he asked excitedly. The bowl could be put on a head as a helmet, which Drazen was tempted to do.

Astrid:"Seems like it~" she adds happily. She pours in the needed sugar and water. "You can do the flour and the salt. I'll read to see what we need for the filling."

She glanced back into the book and began reading it.

Drazen: Drazen nodded happily and took the flour bag. He opened it, forcefully, releasing powder into his face. He tried hard not to sneeze and emptied its contents into the bowl. Drazen then glances at to book and spots how much salt he needed. He takes the bag of salt and a measuring cup. He starts spending a strange amount of time getting the measurement right, as if he was trying to rewrite someone else's signature.

Astrid: Astrid couldn't help but burst into laughter when the powder exploded into his face. At first it was a quiet snicker, and then it turned into a gut-hurting laughter. When she calmed herself, she looked at the book again and read out loud what the ingredients for the filling.

"1/3 cup of sugar, 1/3 cup of flour, one teaspoon of cinnamon, a teaspoon of nutmeg, a teaspoon of salt, 8-10 peeled apple tarts, and two table spoons of butter."

"I can start cutting the apples, if you wanna add in the ingredients, or vice verse?"

Drazen: "I can do both!" he said eagerly. He fished out some if the flour from the bowl when he realized he put too much. Most of himself was already covered in white powder. He also got the smallest spoon and filled it with the salt. All at the same time grabbing an apple. But with knife in sight and no extra arms, he slowly lifted the apple and was about to hit it on the knife. Not really the brightest way to cute fruit.

Astrid: "Hold on, hold on, hold on!" Astrid said taking the apple from his grip.
"Don't hurt yourself, geez." she said adding in a laugh. She took the knife he had tried to grab and began slicing the apple he had.

Drazen: "...okay thanks!" Drazen said, accepting the offer. He continued pouring threw other ingredients in, still making almost sneezing faces. He knows you get used to it after a while.

"Do you have any friends on the island?" Drazen asked, curious. "You're so nice, you must have alot of friends!"

Astrid: "I do have a few actually ... I made friends with this one nice Meowth named Oliver and he works with me at a cafe. I just recently made friends with Cher, the Zoroark. She was there when I evolved ..." she thought for a moment, trying to recall her other friends. "There's you ... and Caloric, and Griflet, and Gavon ..."

She sighed. "But yup, those are all my friends. Know any of them? What about you?" she asked all the while cutting apples. "Who do you hang out with?"

Drazen: Drazen's fins on his head flickered. "Oh I know Oliver! He and I are buddies! Cherrrrrr I think I met her once, she's funny! She's friends with a Delcatty!" He couldn't recall anyone else she mentioned. "Wow I told you! Many friends!"

He began putting in the Cinnamon when he thought for a moment. "Welllll I know Oliver's sister Raquel! She's a Purrloin! And Rory, the Tynamo! And Binah, a Vulpix, and I know Griflet too! And uhhh Seren the Hoothoot, Tania the Espeon and her friend Max the Furfrou, and Rose the Spinda!" He smiled warmly at her. "And you!"

Astrid: "You certainly know a lot of people too~" she chimed back at him. She finished cutting up about 10 slices of apples and set them aside for a moment.

"Next, we take the bowl thats suppose to be the crust, freeze it just a little, then mold it into a pie crust shape. Then we get a pie sheet, pour the filling mixture into the sheet, spread the apples around it, put on the pie crust, and then heat it in the oven."

She took a deep breath after explaining everything. She took the mixture for the crust and went over to her ice box and set it in there to cool.

"Now we just wait a bit."

Drazen: Drazen looked at the ice box a moment. "I wish I knew Ice Punch." he told her. flash freezing things was a really helpful talent, not only in battle.

"Uuuhh what were we supposed to do after this again?" he asked, his mind cluttered with random words he heard. He was always this way, but the look on his face made it look like no amount of explaining would get through to him. It was better to give him instructions one by one. But he tried smiling nonetheless.

Astrid: "You mean after it's done cooling and after the filling is mixed?" She asked with a twitch of her ear.

She went over to her cupboards and pulled out a pie tin. "Well, we use one of these, add the filling in right now, put the apple slices on it, and then when the crust is done cooling we mold that over the pie tin."

Drazen: "Oooohh okay!" he said. He took some tins and mixed the filling in the big bowl. He then put the apple slices around them in an orderly fashion. After awhile of standing in place, leaning left and right to pass the time, he asked. "How long until the crust is done?" He had a smile on his face but it was also a little embarrassed and his eyebrow raised.

Astrid: "It should be cool in 10 minutes or so. Then we can put the pies in the oven and start making other goodies." she said as she relaxed herself against the counter top.

"Y'know, I haven't baked in a while. And it's fun baking with more company~" she said with a smile.

Drazen: "It's fun baking!" Drazen said in general, wiping his face a little from excess flour. "I don't bake very often, I rarely have an oven to work with. It's really fun!" He set some ingredients aside and sat on the counter while waiting.

"I don't really do much with my friends too. Always too busy with work. I work at Miss Widget's Emporium. It's nice there but it takes up all of my time, I never get to do so much fun with anyone I meet. Except Deevee. But she doesn't really like doing anything."

Astrid: "Aw, that really sucks Drazen ..." Astrid sighs. "I don't have much time either with my part time job as a waitress, but I do try to make the most out of everything I do with friends."

Thinking of ways to pass the time she smiles slyly over at him. "Didja know that I draw? I draw lotsa things, mostly nature and feral Pokemon."

Drazen: Drazen's eyes widened. "Whooaaa you have talent! Can I see can I see???" he asked excitedly, jumping from the counter and bouncing up and down. But he stopped, looked left and right, and asked, "Wait, do you have it here? Now?" Little did he remember he was in her house, so duh.

Astrid: She laughed at his excitement and hopped down from the coutner and nodded.

"I'll show you my newest sketches I've done. Stay here a sec." She told him. She left the room and returned shortly with a moderately sized sketchbook. She handed him the book.

Inside held sketches of different feral pokemon and some nature related pictures. On the first page, a Fletchling eating some seeds, on the next a picture of a few tympole near some rocks in the water, and she had drawn some of the pokemon from the Jone's farm.

"I'm still practicing." she shrugs. "I'm not that good though ..."

Drazen: Drazen wiped his hands clean and accepted the sketchbook. Flickering through the pages, Drazen found it difficult to believe her, saying she wasn't that good. His eyes were glued to the paper as he admired every detail.

Astrid: "Gosh I wish I could draw like this...." he said. "They're so nice to look at." He kept going through them, his curious eyes not blinking for a moment.

"Thank you." Astrid replied smiling a bit. "I've been drawing for a really long time. Since I was a kid actually."

"I've been thinking of opening up some kind of store on the island where people comission me to do whatever kinds of drawings they'd like, but I've already seen one of those around ..."

Drazen: Drazen looked at her, puzzled. "So? There are lots of stores around that sells the same things. And it's okay. So why not make a drawing business? If others already did it you can ask them!" He got off the table, cleared his throat, out his hands behind his back, and deepened his voice.

"Hello missus store owner! I wanna make a drawing store like yours! Do you think that's a good idea? Cuz I need help from a professional!" Clearly he believed in fair competition.

Astrid: Astrid laughed and nodded. "Perhaps I will ask if I can make a store. I'll never know if I don't." she said happily. She glanced over at the icebox and walked over to it, peering in. "It should be cold enough by now."

She took the pie crust mixture out of the box and put it on the countertop. She also brought the pie Drazen had been working on over to her. And she had to say ... it looked delicious even without the crust on.

"I have to say ... I was never good at making the crust. My mom would throw it in the air like pizza batter and try to make the batter larger. Then we'd put it on and press the crust against the edges."

Drazen:"I actually never made crust, or baked." Drazen has done plenty in his lifetime before steam, but for some reason, working at a bakery was an opportunity he never had. He could never try at home either, but now he found it pretty fun. And delicious. His eyes were fixed on their creation.

"We're doing good!" he exclaimed.

Astrid: Astrid put her hands on her hips and smiled proudly. "I think it looks good too. Welp, into the oven it goes then~" She picked up the tin and gently slid it inside the oven after preheating it. She closed the oven door and stretched her arms to the air.

"Well, that didn't take too long at all." she looked at Drazen. "What should we make next? Do you have a recipe we could do?"

Drazen: "Does it have to do with more baking?" Drazen asked while staring into the oven at a dangerous distance, at least if you weren't a fire type. "Coz the only other thing I know how to make with apples are the caramelly ones on a stick."

Astrid: "We could make caramel apples if you want~" Astrid replied happily. "Luckily for us, I just happen to have little blocks of caramel in the pantry. I never had a reason to use them, but now we do."

She walked over to the pantry in her kitchen and pulled out cookie jar like container. Inside, almost half full, were a bunch of little caramel squares.

"The only thing I don't have are the sticks ..."

Drazen: And with that notion, Drazen hurriedly went outside. After five minute, Astrid could here rustling in the trees outside. Then in came Drazen, covered in leaves and foliage, but with multiple branches in his hands. "I can make them!" he stated, dropping them down on another side of the counter and taking off his work gloves once again.

He started whittling them down with his sharp claws, while eyeing the caramel cubes she brought out. "Hmmm... I thought they made those out of sugar?" he asked.

Astrid:"They make caramel cubes out of sugar?" she asked glaring at one of them. She shrugged. "Heck if I know."

She brushed a leaf off of him and laughed. "Way to be conservative with the sticks, by the way!"
With the sticks taken care of, she poured the caramel bits into a small pan, and put it over the stove to begin boiling the caramel.

Drazen: "Before I came here I always had to be conversavive! I didn't have very much but it was fun to make things!" He sniffed the air as the aroma of the caramel began wafting.

"Food is always better when you share it~" he stated as he began working on another branch. "Thanks for doing this with me!"

Astrid: "No! Thank you!" Astrid said happily. She took a spoon and stirred the melting caramel. "We definitely gotta do this again~"

Drazen: "I'm ready any time you want! You can even visit my house!" he exclaimed. He sniffed the air again, making an audible Mmmmm sound, signifying his approval of their creations.
"I love apples~" he stated. "You gonna go back and enjoy the rest of the festival?~" he asked her with a smile on his face. He was hoping she would, so even if he couldn't, someone else could enjoy in his place.

Astrid: "Sure! I'll save the caramel for later, and I'll make the caramel apples later. I'll bring one by your house when they're finally done."
She turned the stove off and took care of the caramel for now. "I can't wait to see the farm Pokemon running around. I always find them so cute~"

Drazen: "Wow thanks!" Drazen said, surprised by the act of generosity, which doesn't come often for him.

"The animals?" he then asked. "They're cool, but some of them bite... Be careful. I still like my fingers." he warned.

Astrid: Astrid laughed at his reply. "I know, it hurts" she replied. "My grandfather used to own a cattle ranch in Sinnoh. He nearly got his finger chomped off by a mad miltank."

Drazen: "Whoa..." Drazen said, slightly startled. But after, he put on a surprised look. "Your grandfather had a ranch? So cool!" he told her. With that, he couldn't wait to get back to the festivities. So much so that he almost forgot about the stuff they were cooking up.

Astrid: She finished putting away the food stuffs and put her coat on.
"Well, shall we be off, sir?~"

Drazen: "We shall! Let's go let's go let's go!" And with that, he hurried off with his new friend to enjoy the rest of autumn.
And here's part two c:
In which Astrid and Drazen bake some sweets from the apples they've gotten.
So much for the 'apple picking contest' xDD These two had bigger and better plans for their apples!

Astrid belongs to me
